The Luminary Bakery is a social enterprise supporting the UK's most disadvantaged women to reach their potential. They provide training, employment & community to empower women to move forward from past trauma into an exciting future. We plan to put a woman through their training programme this year.
The Marylebone Project with its 112 bedroom hostel and day centre is the largest women's homeless centre in the UK. They offer help to women from every walk of life who find themselves homeless and in need for many reasons from domestic violence to mental health issues and financial difficulties.
Those living at the Project may stay for up to two years receiving support and most are able to lead normal lives once they have left the safety of the Project. The project aims to not just provide 'a roof over the head', but to help the women staying with us access education, find paid employment and resettle them into their own homes. They also run 'Women into Work' workshops which cover job searches, CV writing, interview skills, training courses and computer literacy.
