Pyjamas by Day

Pyjamas by Day

How have we reached August already? The school holidays are in full swing and so far we have had the best summer ever, with regards to the glorious warm weather. It has also been a summer to remember as we have launched our new luxe nightwear brand Siân Esther. For our first journal post, we thought we would share with you our guide on how to wear your pyjamas by day. Our pieces are designed to not only be worn whilst sleeping at night but also for luxe lounging or poolside pottering.

BREAKFASTS ON THE BALCONY

London can seem unbearable in the heat, with muggy tube rides and congested bus routes but we have managed to escape some of the busyness to enjoy the peaceful parks for leisurely reading and also breakfasting on the balcony. Our red stripe robe makes a great statement piece for throwing on effortlessly, whilst sipping tea and coffee with friends. The cooling nature of the fabric allows for easy, comfortable wearing and the bold stripe has a nostalgic essence about it. Cinch in at the waist with a knot for a more relaxed look than a bow. Our blue chambray pyjama shorty set is another fab option for looking sophisticated but fun. The fabric is super soft and features a cute pom-pom trim on the pj shorties and jacket pockets. We believe we have achieved the perfect blue: not too cold and not too warm!

COSSIE COVER-UPS

We love low key, off-duty styling and this applies to our holiday wardrobe. If you are looking for a non-fussy, print-free cover up then our white dobby nightshirt could be the answer. Worn tied at the middle for a fun and free look or simply buttoned-open, it provides an elegant alternative to lots of sticky suncream. The sleeves are crafted from a cotton/linen mix that get softer and more sumptuous the more you wash them and the body has a delicate cotton lining so you don’t need to worry about revealing all!  The dobby fabric is made on a dobby loom and on our pieces is characterised by a geometric square, providing a textured effect. Subtle but sublime.

SUNDOWNER SHIRTING

There is something about the wonderful weather that we have been experiencing that is making us create sundowners with abundance! What better way to celebrate the achievements so far this year than with friends over a glass or two. For us, this year has not only marked the start of the Siân Esther journey but also the celebration of Siân’s 30th birthday. With all of life’s challenges, we have learnt to celebrate the good things in life and to do this in style. We love all things blue and white and our blue chambray nightshirt with white sleeves and pockets, is an easy wardrove go-to for celebrating with friends. Just add prosecco or Aperol!

FANCY FEET

No pyjama by day styling is complete without out a pair of our tasselled espadrille slippers! These cute slippers are made in East London by women who face different barriers to employment.  The women who make these shoes are provided with well paid, flexible employment, opportunities to gain confidence and gain new skills, as well as build a strong community. They have a buttery soft feel to them as the leather has been reclaimed and so have already gone through the softening process, meaning a blister free summer! We love wearing our slippers around the home, entertaining in the garden and as poolside sliders.
